Ingredients

BURGER INGREDIENTS

  • 6 English Muffins
  • 500 grams Turkey mince
  • 1 Brown onion- diced
  • 1 Glove of garlic- crushed
  • Half Zucchini- grated
  • A third of a packet of Halloumi- grated
  • 1 Tbsp. of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. of tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp OF Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to season

FILLINGS:

  • 2 Tomatoes-sliced
  • 1 Red onion- sliced
  • 1 Ice-berg lettuce- shredded
  • Two thirds of the packet of halloumi sliced into 12 pieces

SAUCE:

  • Half Cup of sour cream
  • 1 and a half Tbsp. of sweet chilli sauce
  • Combine the two and set aside

Instructions

This unique twist on a classic burger combines lean ground turkey with salty, grilled slices of halloumi for a mouthwatering taste sensation. Serve nestled in between English Muffins with your favourite burger toppings for a delightful dinner or tasty lunch.

Method: 

  1. Using a griddle, heat to medium and cook the halloumi on each side, remove from heat and set aside.
  2. In a bowl mix together all the burger ingredients and form into 6 burgers.
  3. Heat pan/griddle to medium and cook burgers for 8 to 10 minutes, turn and cook for a further 8 to 10 minutes until cooked through.
  4. Toast each muffin lightly.
  5. Load each muffin bottom with a dollop of sauce, layered with the shredded lettuce, tomato, onion, burger and halloumi and top with the toasted muffin.
