• 12 slices of Master Loaf Toast White or Wholemeal
  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup finely grated parmesan cheese (fresh not powdered)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

Who else remembers the delicious cheesy bread that a certain restaurant chain used to lavish us with the moment we sat down? If you too dream of biting into a slice of that deliciousness, with crispy, gooey cheese on one side and soft fluffy bread on the other, then I’m here to make your dreams come true.

So simple, easy to make on the stove, on a BBQ plate or even in a skillet over a campfire, this bread is a great way to add some extra yum to your next BBQ. Make the cheesy spread in advance and pack it in your picnic basket to cook fresh on the spot.

  1. Lay your bread out and then prepare the topping.
  2. Combine all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl and beat together until combined and fluffy.
  3. Spread a thick layer on one side of each slice of bread, pushing it evenly right to the edges.
  4. Heat your BBQ or skillet to medium heat and place the bread, cheese side down, onto the cooking surface.
  5. Cook for 30-60 seconds, until the butter and cheese have melted and soaked into the bread creating a cheesy crust.
  6. Traditionally, you do not flip the bread. The cheesy bread is cooked on one side and soft on the other, but honestly I’ll leave that up to you.
  7. Flipping the bread and lightly toasting the other side will do no harm.
