We pride ourselves on being market leaders and are conscious of our impact on the environment. Whilst all our bags are conditionally recyclable (in other words, the plastic CAN be recycled in the right facility), with the collapse of Redcycle, there is currently no means of recycling them.
Recently Cripps have joined as a pilot supporter of the 'National Plastics Recycling Scheme' developed by the Australian Food and Grocery Council. This industry lead scheme will be Australia's largest soft plastic recycling scheme, a circular loop economy for soft plastics that facilitates the recycling of soft plastic at home, via kerbside collection, through to end markets for food-grade plastic packaging.
We believe being involved in this scheme in its early stages is our duty as responsible corporate citizens and it demonstrates to our consumers a commitment to improving environmental outcomes/seeking solutions for soft plastic waste.
We are currently including Australasian Recycling Label (ARL) logos on all new packaging so that our customers are aware of the best way of dispose of their packaging.
Our bread tags are made from 100% recycled and recyclable cardboard. We suggest placing them inside a larger item (such as a box or envelope) before placing in your recycling bin, so they do not get lost in processing.
You can apply to work at Cripps (Glenorchy or Kingsmeadows) via the contact us section on our website. You must complete the aptitude test and upload your CV. Once this is received, we will only contact you if your application is successful, due to (a) the large number of applications we receive and (b) only when positions become available.
Unfortunately, due to potential cross contact, we are unable to make gluten free products. Cross contact is when a gluten free food or food product is exposed to a gluten-containing ingredient or food – making it unsafe for people with celiac disease to eat.
Most Cripps products can be frozen for <3 months. The temperature of your freezer must be 18 degrees or below, or this may impact on the quality of the product. Whilst it is possible to toast product from frozen, we recommend de-frosting first for the best experience. Do not re-freeze once thawed.
Unfortunately, we can’t donate product free of charge. However, we welcome any requests for donations of product, which can be supplied at a reduced cost to help with fundraising efforts. Where possible, please provide at least two weeks’ notice so we can consider/accommodate your request.
Yes, we do! Please read here for more information.
Please note that if a grant is applied for outside the grant period, we may not be able to assist. Grants are assessed based on merit, and alongside other applications and existing financial commitments.
Generally speaking, the best way to store your Cripps products is in a cool, dry place away from direct sources of heat. In some instances, we recommend refrigeration to prolong shelf life – for example, to keep pikelets fresh for longer. It is always best to check the individual instructions for each product.
We always welcome feedback on our products. To provide feedback, please go to the contact us section of our website and fill in the ‘get in touch’ form. To allow us to follow up as thoroughly as possible, we ask that you provide the best before date, location of purchase and if possible and relevant, photos.
Unfortunately, as much as we would love to supply everyone with our products, because we deliver fresh to store daily, it is impossible to service other States. We do however send our Shortbread Australia wide, and our Shortbread is stocked in selected Woolworths stores in Victoria.
All Cripps products are 100% suitable for Vegetarians and the majority are suitable for Vegans. As some of our products use milk and butter, it is always best to check the nutritional information panel of an individual product, which can be found on the packaging or on our website.
No, Cripps products do not contain nuts. However, we advise you always check the allergen information on each individual product.
